  • my vision

I try to be flexible enough to adapt to a changing market and demands of my clients, however I shoot the world through my perspective. I prefer location shooting, dynamic backgrounds are the hallmark of my style. Though I spend a good deal of time in a studio environment, I have and will continue to travel and seek out locations with impact and colour. I have had the extreme pleasure of, and am always looking to collaborate with talented, decisive and visionary individuals; be they Models, MUA's, Athletes or Art Directors.

Part of maintaining and respecting my Vision is a clear understanding of what I do and why I do it. This means that many times I have to politely refuse assignments that do not coincide with the direction I aim myself. I have had the good fortune of knowing a select group of extremely talented photographers and will always happily re-direct a client to one who would better suit their needs. If you check my links you will be directed to some of the best Baby, Wedding, Family and Animal photographers in North America.

  • about me

    My Approach
I don't see photographs as a "record" but rather a story. A story that is unique to each person who sees it. This philosophy grew from the idea that photographs are made, not taken. Regardless if I am shooting a product for a commercial client, a sunrise in a foriegn land or a woman celebrating her body as art; each image needs to embrace the notion of "a picture is worth a thousand words". In my Boudoir work, I firmly believe that every person, when they are unguarded, is exceptionally beautiful and full of grace. My objective is always to bring out and capture that secret someone inside you. We all have them, the people who we know we can be if given a chance. Whether that is soft, subtle and demure, or someone with a powerful sense of energy and charisma just waiting to show themselves. Photographs are about emotions, and I will take the time to build the trust needed to get to those intimate and vulnerable moments.

    Who is this guy?
I started out with more traditional art forms, painting and sculpture; however was never able to express the images I envisioned fully. I had dabbled with photography as a child after the purchase of an old Pentax SLR at a garage sale at age 10, but it wasn't until my late teens when I discovered it as a tool for art. Since then a camera has never been further than an arm's length away. Having never formally studied photography I instead mentored under any and all gifted photographers willing to put up with a precocious young man. In the summer of 2000, after more than a decade of shooting, I decided to embrace photography as a profession rather than just a creative outlet. I cut my teeth in the action sports industry, contributing to magazines such as SBC Skier, Decline, Snowboard Canada and Freeskier. I have also shot for Commercial clients such as Oakley, Lizard Skins, and several Ski/Bike/Board outlets in Canada.
